geda-symbols software package provides GPL EDA -- Electronics design software (symbols library), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install geda-symbols
geda-symbols is installed in your system.
Make ensure the geda-symbols package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep geda-symbols *
You will get with geda-symbols package name, version, architecture and description in a table
